The pavilion in Wellington’s Bowring Park has been set on fire by arsonists just days before it was due to reopen.
The building was gutted by fire in 2012 and after finally being rebuilt it was due to open again this Thursday with public toilets and a snack bar. But arsonists doused the building in petrol on Saturday night destroying it again.
Telford & Wrekin Council spent £70k rebuilding the pavilion and it was due to be handed over to Wellington Town Council. The damage is estimated at £30k.
