The building was gutted by fire in 2012 and after finally being rebuilt it was due to open again this Thursday with public toilets and a snack bar. But arsonists doused the building in petrol on Saturday night destroying it again.

Telford & Wrekin Council spent £70k rebuilding the pavilion and it was due to be handed over to Wellington Town Council. The damage is estimated at £30k.
