We support the development of a local plan for Stirchley & Brookside to help protect green spaces and provide local employment opportunities.
The green outside the entrance to Windmill School and the field behind it are important green spaces in the centre of the estate which will become even more important if the area is designated as a housing growth point in Telford & Wrekin Council’s own local plan as expected. The last thing we need in one of the most densely populated parts of the borough is more housing.
A local plan is a statutory plan (ie. it has legal standing) developed by a parish council in conjunction with local residents and community groups which sets out the wishes of local residents for development in their area.
