A number of local voluntary groups exist in Brookside providing valuable services and support to local residents. We would like to see more support being provided for these groups.
We recognise that money is tight which is why so many voluntary groups have come into existence around the borough but these groups save the council money by coming up with innovative ideas and by carrying out activities that the council would normally have to pay for. If financial help isn’t possible because of a lack of money then practical help can at least be offered such as admin support, auditing accounts, etc.
No community group or voluntary organisation should struggle because of a lack of practical assistance from the council.
