Dawley Social Club

Taxpayers’ money was used to repair the roof of Dawley Social Club but the work carried out was sub-standard and former TAWPA councillor and roofing expert, Vic Tonks, warned that the newly-repaired roof would collapse following the first heavy rainfall.

Following the first heavy rainfall the newly-repaired roof of Dawley Social Club collapsed.  The social club was then sold by the Labour-run council for a fraction of its market value to the Labour-run Social Club committee and another facility intended for Dawley people passed into private hands.  We want an investigation into whether the disposal of Dawley Social Club for a fraction of its value was a proper use of taxpayers’ money and whether the councillors on the committee had any undue influence in the process.
